WARNING, I have a habit I being more detailed than need to be, so it's a bit long
I'm not that much of a dumbass to say too much about me. But I think the stuff I mention (and the fanlistings I've joined) should be enough to understand a little about me. Obviously, I love science-fiction (especially vampire/demon stuff). Reason may be my mother named me Victoria from the soap Dark Shadows (vamps, witches, and werewolves), plus growing up with Ghostbusters (ghosts), Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (emphasis on mutant), Bill and Ted and Back to the Future (time travel) and I do remember watching some of Lois & Clark (superhero) and the Superman movies. As for comedies, Friends will always have a special place in my heart, and I'll miss That 70s Show dearly. I grew up with Married...With Children and Home Improvement, and went on to love Two Guys and a Girl (and a Pizza Place, 1st 2 seasons) and Just Shoot Me. And I think NBC made a mistake screwing around Joey (yes, I liked the friendly spin-off), just as they did with Four Kings (another funny show). But as shows go, new ones emerge, and my new favorite is How I Met Your Mother (it's full of comedic awesomeness), and I find My Name is Earl quite good too. I also enjoyed The Class (should've had a second year), and now ABC has got the goods with Modern Family, Cougar Town, Better With You, and The Middle. I'm looking forward to Mr. Sunchine.
But my main love lies within sci-fi dramas. I think my whole newfound love of the genre shows started when I began watching Dark Angel in the last half of the second (2001-2002 season). Unfortunately, FOX cancelled it when it was getting good, and I was pissed. That's probably why I missed out on an even better gem, Firefly, which too was cut short. It was a good year after Dark Angel ended that the love picked back up, and TNT was syndicating Charmed and Angel (I was without the WB, so I just tuned in and fell in love, particularily with Angel). But after getting into Angel, I caught Buffy the Vampire Slayer (the show for which it spinned-off from) on FX, and watched Tru Calling (another goody FOX canned), and began tuning into the Sci-Fi Channel (which used to be watched a bit by my mother when they aired Dark Shadows at around 11AM, then they stopped, and the TV was never graced with it again until I started watching it). Anyway, I would watch their little daily marathons, catching up with Roswell, Farscape, and even classics such as Star Trek, Quantom Leap, and Knight Rider (which my brother used to watch). I eventually got into Stargate when they advertised Atlantis, and I figured I'd watch it. I never intended to watch SG-1, because it was already well-established, but I did, and had seven seasons to catch up on. And ABC Family started syndicating Smallville (and Gilmore Girls too, but that's not sci-fi, but good enough to mention). I was still able to watch Charmed on TNT, and then in the summer of 2005, moved in with my grandmother (yeah, lame huh), which became worth all the aggrivation just to be able to watch Charmed (which coincidentally, TNT stopped re-purposeing) on its actual night, and see the new seasons of Gilmore and Smallville, plus catch the new amazing show Supernatural. I instantly took back everything I ever thought of about the WB (it's not just a teen-thing, it had very well written-quality shows, just as good as anything on CBS or ABC). I also now like catching Ghost Hunters (which I previously didn't watch because the ads for it made it seem to Reality-Show like, as in the troubles between the group and such), but a marathon taught me a lesson. Though, those parts are annoying, the whole checking out a supposedly haunted building and going through personal experiences and actually catching unexplainable things is truly interesting.
Oh, and I also watch/ed 24, House, Bones, Numb3rs, Close to Home, Rescue Me, Nip/Tuck, South Park, Drawn Together, Lost, Las Vegas, NCIS, and most importantly, Veronica Mars. If you haven't seen this show, you are surely missing out. And it's on the CW schedule, after Gilmore Girls. [updated 01/04/2007] I now watch Criminal Minds, and have given up on Lost. Oh, and I can't forget this little USA gem: Psych (Fri. 10pm, totally awesome!)
[updated 03/14/07]- I now watch the new Lifetime show Blood Ties and have started watching CSI:NY (since it's the youngest one, and it gave me something to watch when Medium was a repeat), Close to Home cancelled..
Check out the TV section to get the lowdown of the current shows I watch [updated when I can], otherwise this page will be LONG.
As for Movies: Underworld [ALL], X-Men [ALL, except Origins], Spider-Man [ALL], Matrix [ALL], Bill and Ted [ALL], Speed, Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, Mr. Deeds, Tommy Boy, Black Sheep, Ghostbusters [ALL], Young Frankenstein, Spaceballs, Slither, TMNT [ALL, except third], American Pie, oh, and the bestest of them all: SERENITY. Let's not forget a few recent ones, Fanboys (I highly recommend this film, which was not a major release but was one of the most enjoyable films to come out in the past ten years, so go buy it or at least rent Fanboys), and I'm sure you heard about Avatar (which was remarkable looking on my low tech 20" CRT TV, I can't wait to get just an HD screen to see this puppy).
And with Music, ROCK AND ROLL!!!!. As I'm typing this I got Alanis Morissette going on a beautiful little MP3 CD I made with about 180 songs, so she's on there with: Nickelback, Three Days Grace, Default, Theory of a Deadman, Tom Petty, Aerosmith, The Rolling Stones, Bon Jovi (nothing from that shit-ass Have a Nice Day (and later), eh, terrible just thinking that that exists), The Who, Our Lady Peace, AC/DC, Goo Goo Dolls, Chevelle, Audioslave, Alter Bridge, Fuel, Def Leppard, Shinedown, Seether, Godsmack, Disturbed, Saliva, and of course, the three on there the most: Tantric (15 songs, roughly half from each of their two discs like 7 from one and 8 from another), Breaking Benjamin (somehow I put 21 songs, which is all from their first two minus two songs) and the great Collective Soul (19 songs, how there's less of them than BB, I don't know, guess I went crazy with the BB). And those are just the ones on that little CD-R of 176 songs. [updated 11/23/10] I currently have over 300 CDs (Breaking Benjamin's "Dear Agony" was numero 300), and I also listen to the likes of 30 Seconds to Mars, Sick Puppies, and a lot more Lacuna Coil, Apocalyptica, and Within Temptation these days (along with the BB, CS, 3DG, and Tantric, plus the multitude of classic rocks bands, including Queen)
alright: "Stop typing, stop typing, stop typing!" No one really cares to how many CDs I have and stuff, so I will indeed stop typing....now...ok...now. .
