Music Favorites

A lot of great bands out there (and a lot of not-so-great bands mixed in). Below is a list of my absolute favorites, linking to their official sites (or closest thing they have to one). I've posted a list of all CDs I own:

CD LIST (As of 08/31/10). Current count: 313 [Expanded list with total artist list and # of CDs for each yr]. Plan to possibly have an online database (vs. a spreadsheet I saved as an HTML which, despite some cleaning up junk code, the files are over 300KBs and aren't sortable).

Breaking Benjamin to release Greatest Hits set
A few days ago, I was listening to Hard Drive XL on the local rock radio station, and they played "Blow Me Away," which sounded odd, like there was female backing vocals to it. I figured it was the radio station, as I was having some problems getting the station in clear, it happens from time to time, the dial is 105.5, sometimes a 105.3 wants to buzz in.

Anyway, after it played, it was mentioned that it was for a Greatest Hits that is gonna be released. Of course, that night, I went to the official Breaking Benjamin site, only to see no news posted. Before posting this, I checked again, still nothing posted for this year at all. However, upon digging through the forums, I learned that "Blow Me Away" is indeed mixed with an artist, Valora, which is a new one for Hollywood Records. Apparently, it's to promote the new act, remixing a song from an existing band. I have a feeling this is more Hollywood Records thinking, not Breaking Benjamin's. This could be due to the hiatus the band is taking due to recurring illnesses, and we know how labels can be, impatient as can be.

Anyway, I went to the Facebook page for Valora, to which I found this YouTube video, well, it's just a static image, but the point is that entire song available to listen, and, available to purchase from iTunes on June 7th. Also, on the static card, it says the Greatest Hits and Rarities set will be released on August 16th. Which I believe is what Lou Brutus (Hard Drive XL host) said.

The closer we get to August 16th, maybe more info about this release, which seems to be not just the singles that were released, but rarities/b-sides as well.
